New Beverage Program at Scarlet Oak Tavern

Scarlet Oak Tavern is pleased to announce the launch of our new cocktail program, under the direction of Webber Restaurant Group Beverage Director, Dave Werthman.  Dave first joined the Webber Restaurant Group team as the beverage manager at The Bancroft when we opened in May 2014.  Prior to that, he was a mainstay of the Boston bar scene for over a decade, believing in a well-rounded approach to cocktails.

His first project?  Expanding the beverage program at Scarlet Oak Tavern!  Dave was impressed by the strong clientele base that the bar team has built over the years, based on hospitality and quality, but will be taking our beverage program to the next level.  “In the last five years the spirits market has exploded.  From little known producers abroad, to the wealth of amazing local distilleries (i.e. Privateer) popping up daily, to not take advantage of this is a disservice to our guests,” Dave said.  “We will be approaching the bar program the same way the kitchen approaches the food, but with the added level of true hospitality.  House made bitters, cordials, syrups, and tinctures, the highest quality spirits, ingredients from our own garden and Gibbet Hill Farm, and utilizing proper techniques are a few examples.  Scarlet Oak Tavern has the exciting opportunity to offer our guests something they will likely not find at any of our contemporaries, while continuing to offer the same hospitality and exceptional product that has kept guests coming back.  I personally couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity.”
